Make Traveling More Pleasurable With These Great Ideas

Posted by jerryhuf on January 26, 2016 at 11:10 AM

Travel is something we all look forward to. It is a break in the monotony of everyday life. It is a chance to relax and live stress free for a week or two, away from work and all responsibilities. Here is some advice for the next time you go on vacation.

The best part of traveling is being able to spend freely once you get to your destination. While the hotel and the flight are usually the most expensive part, the best trips usually involve spending a ton of money out and about. So before you travel set up a savings plan such that you have a fat wallet after paying for the hotel and the flight so you can maximize your enjoyment.

One way to collect memories of your trip is to do crayon rubbings of architectural features, historical markers or even, just interesting textures. All you need is a crayon and thin, newsprint like, paper. Tear the paper cover off the outside of the crayon. Next, hold the paper flat on the surface you are recording. To complete the rubbing, use the side of the crayon rubbing it back and forth until the image emerges.

hen staying at a hotel, remove the top quilt or comforter from the bed. Often, housekeeping is not responsible for washing the top comforter, which means it can be harboring dirt, bedbugs, or other remnants of other guests. If there is a spare blanket in the closet, use that one instead.

If you're going on a cruise either by yourself or with only one other person, consider getting the smallest room available. It's usually a lot cheaper and you can put that money to good use. You're not going to want to spend a lot of time in your room except when you're sleeping or washing, so why should you spend a fortune on it?

Make sure you double or even triple check all of your reservations before you leave for your trip. Just call the hotels you are staying at or make sure none the events you were planning on going to get cancelled. You don't want to be left stranded with nowhere to stay or disappointed that your favorite band isn't going to play in the city you are going to visit just to see them live. There's nothing wrong with checking your plans for your trip.

Pay with Euros! The American dollar does not hold nearly as much strength and prestige as it used to, so trade in for a Euro to get the best treatment. You should still carry some American dollars for tipping, because in many countries they are difficult to find, and are considered souvenirs rather than spending money. Also, you can save money in other ways. If you know you are going to be paddle boarding, for example, pack along your SUP pfd (compact lifejacket) with your Yolo SUP so you don’t have to buy any while you are there. You may also be able to rent Beach Bum Paddle Boards while you are there.

hen it comes to exchanging your currency, it is all about location. Do not be a last minute currency exchanger running through the airport to try and get your foreign money. Airports can be a very costly source of currency exchange, and the rates may not be to your advantage. Exchanging should be one of the early things you do in your planning, as it also secures the money you intend for foreign spending.

Prior to traveling abroad, take some time to familiarize yourselves with the local laws of the country you are visiting. Laws can be very different from country to country. Consulates cannot step over local laws, so if you do break one, even if you were unaware of it, you will be held accountable.

Taking a trip is something that is always fun because it is a new place and a new experience. Oftentimes, it is a vacation from work or from our kids. With the right amount of money and a little bit of research, you can have the best trip of your life and hopefully, this article provided the knowledge. Now you just have to get the cash.
